Detroit " The Motorcity  " or the home of Motown !  I've said many times before  that's not just about the Motown sound. Yes I first fell in love with Northern Soul when maybe Listening to a Motown Track. The More I learnt about the Label and the the recording artist's the more I learnt about this city's music.  It's funny and often said  that it sounded Very much the same.We all know that Berry Gordy found the smaller Labels a threat to his Beloved Motown set up.   Artist's who recorded earlier on another label then joined Motown or recorded under a different name and not forgetting The moonlighting with The Funk Brothers sneaking over to the other studio's.  Look at the studio's in Detroit maybe only having A small amount of recording artist's through the doors to even Berry Gordy buying the company . The more Times  I visited Detroit  to go to the run down area's of the city where theses studio's once stood the more I thought About the 45s back home in the UK and all  the Northern Soul freaks dancing to the music and all those 45s collectors Getting stuck into the sales boxes searching for bargins ,  The thought of me standing here where it was all recorded Means more to most of the UK residents than to Detroit residents  who most of them think it's just a waste of land with No histroy ... Oh your very much mistaken my friend !.  The first time standing outside the Golden World studio on West Davinson  there was a strange  awesome feeling and in my head all i could hear was  " I Love You Forever ".

Check out Chalky Meets Artists where I met Fred Bridges.  Fred was a member of the group The Brothers Of Soul, Other Members of the group was Robert Eaton ,  Richard Knight , then later Ben Knight although no relation. The Boo recordings were recorded at Tera Shirme "Studio A" .
